At Time of Installation We like to stress at our nursery that it is important to understand plants need time to grow-in and mature. Although many designers as well as homeowners like the instant gratification of overcrowding a bed so it looks full and finished, this is costly and the plants will become overgrown quickly & compete for nutrients and water; causing unhealthy growth. In most cases like this the designer or installer is trying to make as much money off of you as possible, as they rarely care about how your garden will look in a few years. We have seen designs that called for 15 shrubs in an area where we felt only about 8 were necessary...
