Water must be from the outside spigots, bypassing the water softener (as this adds salt and may add other chemicals to the water); it must be pure and free of any contaminants. No recycled water should be used to water the plants, or be applied to the plant beds.
How to Water the Plants:
Use a gentle spray, rain, or soaker setting to prevent erosion of soil and mulch. Do not use a harsh stream or strong spray. Use a watch to time yourself if necessary.
|Water each Tree for Five (5) Minutes per Tree at Trunk and Base, NOT the foliage.|
||Water each Shrub for Three (3) Minutes per Shrub, try to water the
base of the plant as opposed to the foliage if possible.|
Small Shrubs & Evergreens
Water each for Two (2) Minutes per plant. Roses: Avoid watering foliage, water the base of the plant only|
|| Water each for One (1) Minute per perennial|
Watering Schedule Immediately Following Installation:
1st & 2nd Week:
| Water once a day every day for the first two weeks. Watering should be done either before 9:00 am or after 6:00 pm.|
3rd -4th Week:|| Water once a day every third day for the third through the fourth week. Watering again should be done either before 9:00 am or after 6:00 pm.|
5th Week:||Water once a week. Watering again should be done either before 9:00 am or after 6:00 pm.|
Note:||If there is a heavy rain on a watering day, then watering is not needed.|
